Outlined are the required actions employees take to protect themselves, their co-workers and the public from a coronavirus infection.

  • If an employee has cold symptoms, such as cough/sneezing/fever, or feel unwell, they must request sick leave.
  • If an employee has returned from overseas, they are required to self-isolate for 14 days. During this time, if they develop symptoms, including fever and cough, they should seek medical attention, remembering to call ahead. Notification to the company is required.
  • Employees who have been in close contact with a confirmed case of coronavirus should also monitor their health and seek medical advice. Notification to the company is required.
  • If an employee has a positive coronavirus diagnosis, they are to immediately notify the company. Return to work is only accepted with full recovery and a medical certificate.

Traveling/commuting and jobsite measures:

  • In-person meetings should be done virtually where possible.
  • Employees are to travel in personal vehicles as public transport is not accepted.
  • Before arriving on a jobsite, employees will apply hand sanitiser before entering the site.
  • Bathrooms should be identified upon arrival at a new jobsite. If none are available alcohol-based sanitiser will be used.
  • Implement social distancing such as avoidance of large crowds, maintaining 1.5 metres between yourself and others whenever possible and no physical contact.

Liaison with contractors, suppliers and clients:

  • If an employee has contracted COVID-19, all employees, contractors, suppliers and clients who had been in recent contact with the employee will be notified immediately.

General hygiene rules:

  • Wash your hands after using the bathroom, before eating, and if you cough/sneeze into your hands (follow the 20-second hand-washing rule). Apply alcohol-based sanitiser if a bathroom is unavailable.
  • Cough/sneeze into your sleeve, preferably into your elbow. If you use a tissue, discard it properly and clean/sanitize your hands immediately.
  • Avoid touching your face, particularly the eyes, nose and mouth with your hands to prevent from getting infected.
  • If you find yourself coughing/sneezing regularly, avoid close physical contact with your co-workers (staying 1.5 metres away) and take extra precautionary measures.
